A Simple "Buyer Beware" Guide
How can you tell what you're getting?
Check the Edge: Cast acrylic has a fine, matte finish on the cut edge. Extruded acrylic is often glossy and smooth. PS board edges look white and powdery.
The Scratch Test: Gently scratch an inconspicuous area. Cast acrylic will show little to no mark, while extruded and PS boards will scar easily.
Always ask your supplier: "Is this Cast Acrylic?" If they hesitate, you have your answer.
